Purpose
To apply lessons in quality improvement in nursing to a real world nursing issue. This Course Project will use the Six Sigma DMAIC process.
Course Outcomes
The Course Project enables the student to meet the following course outcomes:
CO 1: Identify the role of the BSN nurse in the quality improvement process as a member of the collaborative interprofessional team (PO#2 & 7)
CO 2: Discuss effective processes and strategies to improve quality in nursing (PO#2 & 8)
Points
The entire project is worth 600 points. Milestone 3 is worth 300 points of this total.

I: Professional Article to Support Interventions | 75 (25 points reference and citation; 50 points summary) | 25% | Provide a reference in APA format for one (1) peer-reviewed scholarly professional nursing journal article retrieved in full text from CINAHL. Provide a citation in APA format with the intervention in the above category that is supported by that article. Write a brief summary of the article using 80-100 words. |
