Then (the next paragraphs .....still part of the overview) you will get into the PICO, e.g., population of your topic e.g., persons with schizophrenia, surgical patients, etc. the intervention e.g., CBT, medications, sensory rooms, OR preps/washes, ECT, and etc. Also mention the controls (experiment, observations, variables) and outcomes addressed in your issue. 3) Now as per rubric under the 20pts section, you are getting into the meat of the paper, you may label your subheadings and headings with the content that you are suppose to address ---see rubric. Scope of the problem--before you begin troubleshooting a problem, you must first define the scope of your problem. When defining the scope , you need to identify what is working and what is not working. Then get into the relevance of the topic, detailed background information, theories, history, social aspects and etc. --FYI as you are discovering the available literature (literature review) on your topic you will uncover a little more background, insight, controversy, and practice problems. The problem statement will be officially declared under this section. 4) Now under this section (see rubric) you will get into HOW it relates to advanced practice nursing. This is why you want to chose a topic that you can relate to PMHNP practice. PMHNP are also nurse leaders, and can take part in policy changes/identifying and solving psychiatric practice problems. Please see rubric for details under this section. This section will be your conclusion. Some of you have topics that are NOT related to advanced psychiatric nursing, if you were approved make sure that you are relating your paper to advanced nursing practice under this section.
